The African Development Bank is a most important development organization in Africa, helped to finance development initiatives across the continent.
The African Development Bank website contains a wealth of information which needs to easily browsed and searched.
The previous implementation of the search engine used Mnogo Search, however the results needed to be improved and this was upgraded to TYPO3-Solr, which is providing an enhanced search experience.

The Amsterdam School of the Arts (AHK) uses Solr to help both external visitors and internal users (students and staff) find their way on the website. The AHK consists of six schools or academies; Solr enables visitors to search the websites of all academies at once, while offering advanced ways of finding the most relevant results first. Visitors can filter the results by academy, but when they search within an academy website, the results of that particular academy are already boosted.
By making use of the ability of Solr to take user access rights into account, students and members of staff who are logged in to the website can find information on the intranet, in addition to the public information. Faceted search enables users to search just the intranet (of their own academy) or the entire website.
The AHK also uses Solr to provide an advanced method of searching within the study programmes offered. This is done by a separate index queue. Visitors can easily filter the programmes on offer by facets such as field of interest, course level and language of instruction.

Visitors of the Konica Minolta Website using search are supported in many ways:
Autosuggest, Did-you mean and the built-in stop-words help during the search query. Hierarchical Facets with main and sub-categories (displaying the amount of results) help to filter the search results.
One highlight of this search is the ability to download files directly from the results listing. The search is currently implemented on the european website, but will be introduced in all other 38 country websites.
