GEO search
This feature enables location-based searches for content linked to geographical coordinates. During indexing, the longitude and latitude of pages or content are recorded and stored in Solr.
When making a search query, users can specify their location or a search radius, whereupon Solr filters and sorts the results based on geographical proximity. This ensures that only relevant, geographically appropriate content is displayed.
GEO Search supports both simple radius queries and more complex spatial filters, such as searching within polygons. Performance remains stable even with large volumes of data, as Solr performs the spatial calculations efficiently.
Note: Certain functions, such as GEO search, are not included as standard, but require additional extensions, special configurations or a project-specific implementation.
